  • Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
  • Coordination and communication are the key functions with regards to planning, implementing, and monitoring the compliance program
  • Should be able to exercise independent judgment without fear of reprisal.
  • Ensures proper reporting of violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required.
  • Should be able to review contract obligations (seeking the advice of legal counsel, where appropriate) that may contain referral and payment issues that could violate the anti-

 

Kickback statutes, as well as the physician self-referral prohibition and any other legal or regulatory requirements.

  • Works with the Human Resource Department and others as appropriate to develop an effective Compliance Training Program- including appropriate introductory training for new staff as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.
  • Acts as HIPAA privacy officer for the organization.
  • Should be flexible to travel to various locations in US and India.

Qualifications:
  • 10 + years of Compliance experience in a health care organization.
  • Full knowledge of health care laws, regulations and standards and must possess knowledge of specific laws and regulations imposed on healthcare systems by various agencies (Anti-kickback, HIPAA, HITECH, etc.)
  • Understanding of coding and reimbursement systems, risk management and performance improvement.
  • Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance and human resource procedures and regulations are required.
  • Leadership ability and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Understanding of coding and reimbursement systems, risk management and performance improvement helpful.
  • Experience in interaction with the OIG.
  • A person of high integrity who is able to exercise independent judgment.

 

Annual Base Compensation: 80K to 85K base
